Alpha Excelsior Guest Farm

Country Winery & Olives

Alpha Excelsior is a working guest farm on the edge of the Cederberg Wilderness area, in the heart of Rocklands. The area is just over the Pakhuis Pass in a secluded, undeveloped area of breath-taking natural beauty near Clanwilliam in the Western Cape, South Africa.

The region is famous for the annual display of wild flowers, the biggest concentration of Khoe-Sān Rock Art paintings in Southern Africa, and ruggedly beautiful landscapes and unique rock formations created by the erosion of sandstone, supporting a vast diversity of flora and fauna species. The surrounding mountains are world-renowned for rock climbing and bouldering opportunities.

All guests have access to the farm dam for swimming and kayaking (or a braai on the island) and guests in the cottages are welcome to relax beside and swim in the sparkling swimming pool.

Alpha Excelsior is the perfect place to use as a base to explore the wonders of the Northern Cederberg. There is easy access to several hiking trails; various rock art sites and world-famous bouldering; as well as wine and olive oil tasting from The Hen House Coffee Shop.

Your hosts Connie, Lizzie, Becky & James invite you to relax and will ensure your stay will be one to remember!
